Brendan O’Brien joins BNRG Board as Non-Executive Director


BNRG Renewables Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan O’Brien as a Non-Executive Director to the Board. Brendan brings a wealth of experience, with a mechanical engineering background and an early career in automotive manufacturing in the Americas. Since 2009, Brendan has been actively involved in the development of renewable energy projects, starting with CSP technology in Iberia and North Africa, and later transitioning to solar PV across Europe. At Lightsource BP (2010-2011), Brendan led the development of the UK’s largest rooftop solar PV project at the time and played a key role in pioneering utility-scale ground-mounted solar projects in the region. In 2012, he co-founded JBM Solar, a company dedicated to delivering gigawatts of sustainable energy. JBM was acquired in 2023 by RWE, boasting a multi-gigawatt pipeline. Notable achievements include project sales in the UK to Sun-Edison, Solaria, BayWa, and Vantage (Tenaga), as well as the sale of a 300MW+ pipeline to Statkraft AS in Ireland in 2019. Currently, Brendan is an active investor in start-ups and infrastructure funds focused on decarbonization. He holds an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid.
